Spud is a country boy who came to us from a rural shelter in Florida. He sports a few scars on his sweet face and a ragged ear. From this point forward, Spud would like to be a lap dog, he LOVES affection! He is beginning to learn about playing with toys (see video below), and seems to be just fine with other dogs - but his focus is a bit more on the humans. Interestingly, he is not as food motivated as most beagles we have met, but his foster mom says he listens well and is obedient. Spud has one skill you really need to know about - he is an expert fence climber! Fortunately he walks very well on leash and he is also doing great with house training even though he is not yet neutered (surgery scheduled with our vet soon). Spud is not a fan of his crate but his foster mom is working on training him by making positive associations... feeding him there and providing high-value treats which he only gets in the crate. Thankfully, Spud is heartworm negative!
