SPONSORSHIP ONLY - NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Edith landed in a shelter when her elderly owner passed away -- and she quickly became a shelter favorite. Being heartworm positive, mostly blind and quite elderly herself at about 13 years old, Edith didn't have a strong chance of being adopted. However, the shelter staff diligently sought rescue for her. As soon as we saw her picture we knew we had to somehow find a foster home for her. Edith faces challenges every day, but they do not seem to slow her down! We have already gotten her to an ophthalmologist and, although we will not be able to restore her vision, we are making sure she maintains what she has and is in no pain or discomfort. She tolerates her eye medications like a trooper. We are working towards addressing her heartworm disease, but need to get plenty of diagnostics before we decide a treatment plan. If you would like to contribute towards Edith's care, we would greatly appreciate your financial help. You can do that using the DONATE button at the bottom left of our web page or contact us for other payment methods at saveabeagle@sebr.org.
